In the wake of sexual harassment and assault exposes on some of the top players in the media and entertainment worlds, HLN’s S.E. Cupp Unfiltered is dedicating tonight’s episode at 7 PM solely to the topic of “sexual assault and possible solutions.” HLN is promoting the show as a “thoughtful and provocative conversation.”
Unfiltered is at its core a panel show and the guest panelists are Unfiltered contributor Erin Gloria Ryan, attorney Midwin Charles, New Day anchor Alisyn Camerota, and CNN sports analyst Christine Brennan. State Representative Sara Feigenholtz (D-IL) and Dr. Jodi Gold will also be interviewed as part of the show. Representative Feigenholtz recently introduced a resolution in the Illinois House asking representatives to address sexual harassment and signed an open letter on the topic.
Unfiltered is promoting the program as “Enough! Ending the Real War on Women.”
The mainstream media has been focused on the Harvey Weinstein crisis and Unfiltered is no exception. However, Unfiltered has gone farther and connected Weinstein to other cases of sexual harassment and/or assault, like Roger Ailes, Bill Cosby, and Bill O’Reilly. Cupp has even said that the true story is “sexual harassment and a culture of misogyny.”
A HLN spokesperson noted that Unfiltered has been focusing on this topic nightly, but the issue is serious enough to warrant a full hour.
