CNN, Fox News Dominate Midterms Ratings

The Nielsen ratings for Election Night 2018 have been released and America turned to cable news. Over the six major news channels, Fox News led in total viewers while CNN won the important 25-54 demographic. NBC led the way among the broadcast networks while CBS was a disappointing distant finisher behind MSNBC.

The broadcast networks were live from 8 PM until 11 PM ET. During that time, cable news was still dominant.

CNN: 2,543,159 (25-54); 5,070,235
Fox: 2,391,778; 7,784,358
NBC: 2,282,000; 5,690,000
ABC: 1,957,000; 5,264,000
MSNBC: 1,354,074; 4,749,433
CBS: 1,296,000; 3,897,000

From 6 PM until 1 AM on cable news:

CNN: 1,867,255 (25-54); 3,878,526 (total)
Fox: 1,816,080; 6,120,509
MSNBC: 1,102,474; 3,945,377
