Fox News’s Sean Hannity will interview President Donald Trump on Wednesday night. The interview will pit President Trump against CNN’s town hall with House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-CA). The move is also another sign of Fox News’s aggressive promotion of Hannity’s show as it goes against MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show which has been the top show in cable news for a significant portion of the year. Several exclusives last week helped Hannity easily beat Maddow in both total viewers and the 25-54 demographic.
Hannity’s interview will tape in Morgantown, West Virginia. While Trump easily won the state of West Virginia and every county, Morgantown’s Monongalia County had Trump’s lowest vote share with 51%.
There will be an audience for Hannity’s interview with the President. Fox News says that the audience will be made up of Republicans, Democrats, and independents. There will also be an opportunity for audience members to ask questions to the president and that question-and-answer session will be televised as well.
In contrast to his frequent interviews during the Republican nomination process, Trump has significantly slowed on interviews while serving as President. His most recent television interview was also on Fox News; he was interviewed by Pete Hegseth for the network’s morning show, Fox & Friends.
