TKNN has learned from a CNN spokeswoman that Chief Congressional Correspondent Dana Bash will anchor this week’s State of the Union.

Bash has previously anchored State of the Union, including a time when she co-anchored with CNN Chief Political Analyst Gloria Borger.

Former State of the Union anchor Candy Crowley stepped down this previous Friday after 27 years at CNN and anchoring State of the Union since 2010. After it was announced that Crowley was leaving CNN, Bash was one of the most vocal about her departure, writing an article on CNN.com about all that Candy had meant to her.

In addition to her congressional duties, Bash also serves as the main 2016 Republican presidential contenders correspondent, which could become an increased load as more candidates start to make waves.

CNN’s State of the Union airs Sundays at 9 AM ET and PT.

TKNN will continue to monitor the interim anchors of State of the Union until a new anchor is named. Stick with TKNN for continuing coverage of this story.
