NBC’s Saturday Night Live Takes on Al Sharpton

NBC’s Saturday Night Live took on Reverend Al Sharpton and his show, PoliticsNation, again last night for its cold open. The show lampooned Sharpton’s struggles to read off of a teleprompter and his involvement with both the Michael Brown and Eric Garner cases. Kenan Thompson portrayed Sharpton. Even though MSNBC is part of the NBC Universal family, SNL has not shied away from taking aim at the left-leaning cable channel. Yesterday, especially, SNL took aim at corporate siblings, including the very channel that broadcasts it, NBC. SNL took aim at NBC’s Peter Pan Live! in addition yesterday.
