Gawker has published an article alleging that Shep Smith wished to come out publicly and due to that, he lost the 7 P.M. timeslot. The article tries to spin Smith’s promotion as a breaking news anchor as actually a demotion. Politico’s Dylan Byers has found many holes in the story. Now, Smith is responding with a memo to Fox News’s news team. The Daily Banter obtained the memo that Smith sent from the NCTA show in Los Angeles and Smith takes the opportunity to take a crack at CNN. Smith calls the news “as phony as 24-hour breaking news on The Plane Channel” which is referring to CNN’s coverage of the MH370 plane.
