Piers Morgan Loses 9 P.M. CNN Show

morgan cancelledThe New York Times has confirmed that CNN has cancelled Piers Morgan Live. Several reports came out Sunday night indicating that CNN had ended the controversial interview show. However the New York Times’s David Carr spoke to Piers Morgan and the host admitted that his opinions on gun control have been polarizing and off-putting to audiences. Morgan also admitted his show has run its course. CNN’s President, Jeff Zucker, has been in discussions with Morgan and Zucker made the decision to pull the plug. Carr reports that CNN is considering a new role for Morgan, as opposed to him just leaving the network.

Morgan’s show has had troubles in the ratings, especially lately. A recent show had just 50,000 in the key advertiser demo of 25-54 year olds. The show has had tough competition in the likes of Fox’s The Kelly File and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow Show.
